Looking forward to our first trip to Mystic - need a recommendation for a real nice restaurant, probably for lunch on a weekend. I'm hoping for something a little more special than your average pizza place. Ideas anyone?

where are you staying? I booked a trip to Mystic and found out we were staying much north of there. There were no restaurants...You have to be very careful what section you are in.
Let me know where you are staying and I will ask around
we're actually staying in Rhode Island, but hope to spend a day in Mystic since I've never been there. So anywhere in that general area would be great, if you know of something?

We always stay at The Inn at Mystic when in the area. Make reservations at their Flood Tide Restaurant, it's very good. Lovely views.

Traveling from RI to Mystic I would highly recommend stopping in Stonington Borough for lunch. My top choice would be Noah's Restaurant - the daily menu is based on what's on the dock. Water Street Cafe is excellent. The view at Skipper's Dock is worth a million dollars - but the food can be very pricey. In mystic itself - Daniel Packard Inn is great, so is Anthony J's. You mention pizza - Mystic Pizza is not very good - take a picture of the sign and move on.
