Hi! I have not been on this forum in about 4 yrs and since that time we now have two kids (4 and 2). We just booked a last minute vacation to North Myrtle Beach for the 4th and I have no clue where we should eat. I have not been to MB since I was in High School (refuse to admit how long that has been). We will obviously have our kids with us so we need kid friendly places but prefer seafood and do not want to eat at places we have here in Atlanta (ie Joes Crab Shack etc).
We usually go to Charleston at least once a year and love places like Shucks, Hymans, Bubba Gumps, Tommy Condons if that helps anyone with suggestions. I do not mind driving just a bit. We are already use to that living in Atlanta.
We just want good casual seafood where the kids will be welcomed and good drinks would be great as well.
Thanks so much in advance!
Amanda

You can go south to Murrell's Inlet to any number of good places--Inlet Crab Restaurant (small but you can make reservations--looks like a shack!!), Wahoo's (can eat outside), Creek Ratz (also can eat outside), Conch Cafe in GardenCity (eat ON the beach outside), Sara J.'s at the Causeway to Garden City.
I don't think mixed drinks are particularly good in SC because of the new liquor laws. Just our opinion. Getting away from the individual bottles hasn't helped.
Thanks so much for your help.
You'll also be in close proximity to Calabash which caters primarily to families on vacation. I am partial to Ellas but nearly everyone has their own favorite.
Yeah. Calabash is such a shadow of its former "self", it is painful. Ella's is a good choice.
I would try Original Benjamin's Calabash. Great food and selection. And, for some night life I would try The Carolina Opry, it is a very family oriented variety show.
Also, I know you have already reserved your vacation but for the others... I found a sweepstakes site for a vacation package to Myrtle Beach that I'd love to win. The site is www.MyrtleBeachSweepstakes.com
Have a great trip! I love Myrtle Beach!
