must see/shop with teenage daughter

Hi, My daughter and I are heading to NYC for a quick get away. She loves museums, so I thought we'd to the metropolitan and natural history. I've got tickets to a show. She'll want to shop shop and shop some more, so I would love suggestions on the best, most fun places to shop for clothing. Also do you have any suggestions on fun places to eat? Thanks a million!

Would help to know how old your daughter is. What exactly do you mean by "fun" places to eat? Are you looking for touristy theme restaurants? Trendy S*X and the City type places?

I'd have to say if she is a teenager hit H&M and it will not break your budget.

I'm not a fan of Macy's. I find it kind of junky.

Love Bloomies. The other Bs (Bendels, Barneys, and Bergdorf) along with Saks are very very expensive so I'd give them a miss.

Also like Mexx next door to H&M on Fifth Avenue. A/X (Armani Exchange) across the street were big hits my my stepdaughters but expensive.

Thank you! My daughter is 15. Fun places to eat; well yes trendy but not so that it would be uncomfortable for the two of us, maybe some touristy. I don't know.

Serendipity is usually a fave for that age for dessert at least, if not a meal. (She might like the movie if she hasn't seen it). John's pizzeria in the village.
