Must do's/see's in Las Vegas
My husband and I will be headed to Vegas at the end of the month. We're staying at the Venetian and have tickets to "O". Other sites/hotels/shows/"happenings" we should make sure are on our list? We have 5 days. Appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Well, the Venetian itself is quite a sight to see. You can spend at least 2 days checking out all of the other hotels along the strip. IMHO, don't miss NYNY (take a ride on the Manhattan Express), Paris, Bellagio (check out the pool area and the conservatory, the Forum shops at Ceazars, the Alladin, the tigers at the MGM Grand, the Volcano at the Mirage, the pirate ship battle at Treasure Island, the roller coaster at the Sahara, etc etc. Do go downtown to Fremont St. one night and see the light show and try to relive old Las Vegas. Have a 99 cent shrimp cocktail chased by a 99 cent margarita. Go to the Stratosphere observation deck and see the strip, take a ride on the Big Shot or the roller coaster at the top. Go to the Rio, see the Masquarade in the Sky show, go to the Voodoo Lounge and order a Just What the Witch Doctor Ordered and listen to some great jazz. Eat at great restuarants. Rent a car, to to Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead. For a change of pace and lots of snow, go to Mount Charleston. There is tons and tons of things to do in Las Vegas, you'll be afraid you won't have enough time. Have a wonderful time, I'll be there in February. Also, check out the discussion board at www.lvol.com for other suggestions.

My husband and I just spent a week there in November. Stay at a nice place-we split between he MGM Grand and the Bellagio. The latter is a beautiful resort and has a very classy common area. Exploring all the hotels will take 2 days and should be done. There are fabulous restuarants--Aureole, Emerils,Aqua,Spago are all good. Slipping in a few spa treatments is also recommende--the Bellagio spa is gorgeous. I learned to play craps at Ballys and it is a fun and fast game. Danny Gans is a good show but short for the money. O is very good but ethereal and deep!
