Must Do's in Cherokee and Maggie Valley area.
Hi me and my husband will be in the Gatlinburg area next month and we plan on going to Chattanooga for a couple of days but would also like to do some sight seeing in Cherokee and Maggie Valley. We've been to The Biltmore and Asheville area and Cherokee and Maggie Valley but would like to do a couple of things we havent dont yet. Looking for things off the beaten path.

If you haven't already, I recommend eating at Butts on the Creek. They close during the winter months, and I'm not sure when they reopen, maybe someone from that area can help with that. But it is a bbq place right and it is on the water, we sat on the back porch, listened to the water and had a great lunch.

We plan to go Trout fishing.Last year we found a great little honey hole off Big Cove Rd and caught our limit within a couple of hours.Best trout we've ever eaten. We have done Unto These Hills several years ago and the Cherokee Museum last year. I think we might try to do a few hikes on the NC side.
