I plan on going to the Beckman exhibit at the Fogg Art Museum in Harvard Square.
Paintings by Max Beckmann from the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich.
there is usually a good listing of fairs and festivals on visitnewengland.com
aside from Boston.com or similar event web sites, I usually resort to going to the web page that lists all MA museums and has all the links -
www.masshome.com/museums.html
good luck !
Here's a link to all the exhibitions at the Harvard Univ Art Museums:

The ICA just recently reopened in a brand new building, so it's probably worth a visit if you haven't been yet.

And a Joseph Cornell exhibit at the Peabody-Essex Museum in Salem (it was on view in DC earlier this year)
