Mt. Hood Hikes & Downtown Portland Parking

Jump to last reply

Hello! Headed to Portland in two weeks and need to finish up pulling together some info. on a few items:

1) We're staying at the Nines and we'll have a rental car for one night. Any suggestions for a good ovenight lot close to the hotel? Last time we were in Portland we had a rental car and the lot attendent let us stay in the lot overnight for free as long as we were out by 7am. This worked well for us but I doubt we find the same offer.

2) On the Sunday of our trip we plan to head east from Portland toward Mt. Hood to do some hiking. My guess is we'll have 4-5 hrs. of hike time i.e. maybe noon -5. Does anyone have some hike suggestions? We've already done the Gorge and the falls. Maybe a nice lake hike around Mt. Hood? Something within an hour - hour 1/2 drive from Portland one way.

Thanks! We appreciate the thoughts!
