There's Southland Restaurant in Moyock that has pretty good North Carolina (vinegar based) BBQ. IF you are staying at Trisha's Bed and Breakfast, it's less than a minute away. Currituck BBQ in Barco is about a 20 minute or so drive south and most people around here like it. If you prefer the tomato based BBQ, that's harder to come by.
utcvmdvm - Thanks! Yes, we'll be staying at Trisha'a. We've stopped at Southlands for breakfast or bathroom breaks several times over the years but will probably go to Currituck for the barbecue.
Crabbie's has outstanding seafood on the Intercoastal Waterway with outdoor dining and music on the weekends.
