Hey All---We are planning a move back east (currently live in CA) and are interested in Providence, which is where my husband grew up. We want to live in the city at least for a few years. Anyone have any tips about areas that are up and coming. Of course we love the East Side, but what else is new there?
Thanks!

All along Hope Street, the shops and houses are being Yuppified and are full of young families and whole-grain bread.
So what neighborhoods do you like?
The west side is in the midst of a huge restoration - the area from Atwells (Federal Hill) all the way to the Armory. If you drive around the neighborhood, you'll see several homes in the midst of renovations. There are some great restaurants and bars, and the area feels much more urban than the East Side.
