Moving to Arizona and looking for new career any leads???
Hello,
My fiance and I have decide to move to Arizona after our wedding because we just love it out there and we figure now is the time to make a big move if we ever are going to do it.
Anyway, my fiance's father lives in Glendale so we will be staying with him until we both can get new careers going then we plan on buying a new house or condo. I am wondering if any of you have any suggestions or leads for a new career in business for my fiance and I both? We have been applying to jobs via the Internet but not having to much luck lining anything up. I have a bachelor's in business administration and looking for someting in business, marketing, human resources, computer analyst, etc.. My fiance is currently an account rep and is looking for sometimg similar; anything in business.
Also, we are wondering what areas in AZ have nice new housing or condos in the $150,000 range?
Thanks so much for any information!
Pam and Mike

Go to
www.homes.com
for real estate help. Face it, you're going to be looking for work in the Phoenix metro area, so just grab the local paper (check out the online résumé listing services-- is monster.com still around?). Try Phoenix's official web site (they have to have one).
And everyone: Please try to use Fodor's Travel Talk forum for, well, travel talk. How hard is it to hit Google, or the well-known work/real estate web sites, for this kind of info? If you REALLY want an opinion of a city as a Place to Live, try epinions.com.

I've heard that the video game business has an increasing presense in Phoenix and as the industry is growing so large now, business majors will be needed for various duties other than programming and design. Do some research on which companies are out there and try to get your resume into them BEFORE jobs are posted. Good luck!
I hate to say it but RJW is right. This post is not really travel related.

Hey doc, if I tell ya it won't be a secret, now, will it? #;^)
I'm not trying to come down hard on people looking for info on places to live-- it's just that it's a little off-message. If anything, I think I'm being more gentle than some who will just tell job- and home-seekers to bugger off and leave us travelers alone. Travel and relocation *are* different, after all.
