Heading out to New Mexico for a week in late summer. My husband and I are western history and old western movie fans. We have read about both the Bonanza Creek Ranch and the Eaves Movie Ranch. Neither of the web-sites mention whether or not they allow visitors. Does anyone know and/or has anyone been to either place? If all else fails, I suppose we can call.

This NMer doesn't know either, try this for info:
http://www.nmfilm.com/
Bonanza Creek Ranch has five 'sets' and if any of those 'sets' are 'in-production' they are NOT available for touring.
They do have two tours:
walking tour set-to-set $20 (one/two day notice)
lunch + tour + literature $38 (weeks advance notice)
Thanks for the info. We will be flexible so I guess we will just call a couple of days before the trip to see what is going on.
Hello,
Check the New Mexico Magazine site. There was an issue that featured movie sites. I think it was last fall , but I could be off by a couple of months either way. Maybe your local library subscribes, ours does and keeps the issues for a year. Was a very informative article.
