More Portland Or restaurant ?

Hi gang- coming up to Portland for a girls 60th BD party

Got ideas for a great dinner place for group of 8 - we are staying at Monaco Hotel

we'd prefer something in the general area or 23rd st area

suggestions have been the Blue Hour-seemed very noisy last time I was there.

and I suggested the Andina which you had recommended when my daughter was in town.

Another suggestion has been Lucy's Table -
Also looking for something fun to do that weekend - Feb 29
Have looked at POVA and the newspaper and havent come up with any great ideas so maybe 1 of you will have an inside track to something
Thanks in advance

Another very good place up on 21st is Serrato. Fenouil in the Pearl is alwasy good too though.

For things to do, hmmmm...the Blazer and the Luumberjax are both in town that weekend. I will say the Jax games are a blast, but I kind of doubt that is what you had in mind, lol!

Thanks for the restaurant suggestion

I dont think the Blazers are quite what we had in mind

A play or a music event- would be good
we'll keep looking and if you have any great ideas let me know

Did you check the pova website yet? They have a calendar of events, even by category.

I checked POVA and the Oregonian Weekly Mag- nothing that caught my eye

so if you were going for your BD celebration - which one of those restaurants would you choose ?

Hey sunbum!

If it's the right group, and you're thinking about Andina, this would be fun: http://www.pearlwineshop.com/private_dining.htm. Post back if you want more info. Or, if you liked Bluehour except for the noise, 23 Hoyt is owned by the same folks. And has a better chef, in my opinion. Ten 01 would be nice too.

I'm taking mms's advice and booking Serrato for a 60th anniversary celebration a couple months from now. I know they've got a couple private rooms. And Fenouil's a can't miss.... geez, it's good.

Close to Monaco? Pazzo has a room much like the one at Pearl Wine Shop. Sorta feels like you're in a wine cellar. And their food's pretty good, too.

Scarlett!!! You were doing so good! ;-)

Yes, a private dining room. Not sure if it's part of the wine shop or Andina's as it's actually underneath the restaurant. Brick walled, wine bottles behind glass (I think); enough removed from the restaurant that you don't know it's there. You could be noisy and rambunctious, or not.

We attended a dinner hosted by a friend there a year or so ago. I believe she discussed/determined the menu with/through the wine shop. Four - five courses, each accompanied by wine, again your choice. But the wine shop guys know what they're talking about.

I read the page I linked after I posted it; kinda scary, dollarwise, huh.... And they might not want to book a party of 8 in a room that holds 16. But, having been back to the wine shop a couple times since, my guess is that they would welcome you. Maybe even cut you a special deal.

I had an anniversary celebration at Fenouil..otherwise, just dinners and some lunches.
Wildwood is nice but not as romantic..so girls would be comfy, big booths..nice tables..great service..

So glad you enjoyed Fenouil!
I celebrated so many occasions there, anniversary right after they opened as well as someone getting good news from doctors, it became a habit of ours to have to celebrate something there at least once a week or so...hey! you would be surprised how many things are worth celebrating at Fenouil...what about the time Pup got a new groomer? lol

Did you love the hotel?
