Travelodge downtown couldn't be more central but I stayed at the Travelodge about two miles out and it was excellent value, if you have a car it's only about ten minutes to downtown. I would say the weather would be very nice but why don't you check the local weather sites for an overall view.

We stayed at the Monterey Bay Lodge last summer. It was very comfortable and clean and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Another vote for Andril Fireplace Cottages...they are across the street (side street) from the conference center. Walking distance to Asilomar Beach and the boardwalk trails into Pebble Beach

...classic, quiet coastline...don't miss Point Lobos which looks something like this:

Andril's is a great, quiet place and has easy access to Monterey/Pacific Grove/Carmel which are pretty much 'joined at the hip'.
Weather will likely be cool...bring sweaters
