Can anyone give recommendations for an inexpensive motel/hotel in Monterey-Carmel area in May

I stayed here in Carmel -

I had planned only one night (at a more expensive hotel) but enjoyed Carmel so much I wanted to stay longer. This was a nice hotel at a nice rate.

I've used Priceline a couple times for Monterey and gotten the Hyatt for around $75/night.

My DW and I spent a night at the HI Hostel within walking distance of the Monterey Aquarium. You can also bring your own food to prepare in the kitchen which saves restaurant costs.

We drove to Monterey from the Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel which has the great coastal views you are looking for.

I've stayed at the Pigeon Point Lighthouse Hostel. It's very nice.

Here is a search engine that guarantees the best hotel prices. I'm sure it will help you decide:

Have fun!

If you could please let me your price range, I can better help pinpoint more suggestions for you.

I work with the Monterey County Convention & Visitors Bureau and I want to be able to help you with all the information you need, so you can have an amazing visit.

If you can get a good deal at Casa Munras, it's a great little property with free parking and free wifi.

Otherwise, Surf Inn on Munras -- generally runs $99 a night, a motel with nicely appointed rooms, free parking, free wifi, flat screen t.v.s and a continental breakfast in the little lobby.
