I would like to stay for under $100 per night but would consider more for a special place. We will probably be there for 2 nights so even a camp site would do but if there were a special place that was recommended, it may be an option to spend some extra travel $ instead of a couple of nice Maui dinners.

I stayed at the Hotel Molokai. Rooms were average, but nice pool and the restaurant is quite good. Here is the website:

You can do a search on google.com for "Paniolo Hale". This is a condo complex in the West side of the island. Unit is large. We stayed there a couple years ago. Large screened lanai. It costs about $95 or $100. About 1300 sq. ft with kitchen.
