I was wondering where I can find the trail to the beach at the bottom of the cliff on the southern side of the island? Is there a sign visible from the road? Is the walk down strenous?

The trail is well marked and is appoximately 175 (?) stairs, maybe 10 or 15 flights? If it's slow going, there are landings every 10 or so for rest. Easy to sit down. Nothing like hiking the Grand Canyon or anything like that. The bluffs are just adjacent to the SouthEast light house, maybe 100 yards or so.
I'm really not a know-it-all, just a huge fan and frequent visitor to BI and coastal RI.
