MOBILE, AL SHORT TRIP REPORT

QUICK WEEKEND IN MOBILE for TENNIS TOURNAMENT

LOVE that MOBILE AIRPORT - Arrived Gate 1, Departed Gate 1 ...
"Airport" Marriott - Full service Marriott on Airport Blvd.
Fresh Lobby/Rooms and High Quality Food/Drinks in Concierge Lounge (Beef Fajitas...)
When we departed 5am on Monday .. Security Guard walked us out saying he hoped our windows hadn't been smashed out overnight .. UMM ... what?! So while I had a wonderful experience - I must say there were parts of town - like any other town in America - that weren't that savory. Again, we had NO trouble whatsoever.

Mobile Art Museum - SCULPTURES in the park outside around the lake - an impressive permanent collection for a city of Mobile's size. Knowledgeable docents. Two high quality temporary exhibits. Thumbs Up.

Mobile Botanic Garden - AZALEAS! BLOOMING EVERYWHERE!

Other than the typical chains .... best place we found to eat was thru the tunnel ... Felix's Fish Camp. Neat ambiance with rustic wood plank walls, white tablecloths, candles in wine bottles, on stilts on beach facing water. Oh, and the food ... GOOD STUFF. Crab bisque, crab dip, crab on my steak .... you get the picture. :)

Didn't have much time between matches to really explore, but what we did do we enjoyed.

MORE EXPLORING NEXT TIME!
