There is a great science museum in St. Paul
And of course we have the Mall of American in Bloomington
The Minesota History Museum in St. Paul is great. Historic Fort Snelling is quite interesting. Do you like the outdoors? Minneapolis has a great parkway system joining all its lakes and rivers. I think you can rent roller blades and do that. William O'Brien State Park north and east of downtown St. Paul is right on the St. Croix River and has great hiking trails. There is also canoe rental there and this makes for a great day trip since the St. Croix is a protected national scenic river, quite quiet and very different from the Mississippi you will be on. They would probably like Camp Snoopy at the Mall of America.
