Stayed at the Park Central (56 & 7th) as part of a package I had bought thru The Manhattan Club. Hotel is NOT up to par - so I do not recommend this hotel at all.
DINNERS: Redeye Grill. (56th & 7th ave) Good seafood but way over-priced.
Opted for 3 appetizers (Manhattan clam chowder, crabcake & guacamole) with 1
glass of wine. Bill: $100.16 Given poor service as we didn't order entrees.
Dafni Greek Resto (42nd between 8th & 9th). Longtime favorite w/good
good & very reasonable prices. Strongly recommend. Close to theaters.
THEATRE: Nice work if You Can Get It with Matthew Broderick & Kelli O'Hara.
An amusing musical comedy w/good choreography & sets. Worth seeing if you
enjoy musicals.
A Steeetcar Name Desire with Blair Underwood. This play needs major work & is close to three hours long.
First act drags; second act is better. Audience obviously did not know this work as there was laughter in all the wrong places.
Gore Vidal's Best Man with James Earl Jones, Angela Lansbury, Candice Bergen,
John Laroquette & Eric McCormick. GREAT production w/Mr. Jones leading the cast.
Bergen is stiff and Laroquette doesn't really come across as a presidential
candidate but overall, a play worth seeing & some of the political comments are
spot on.

Thanks for the report! We are going in May and plan too see The Best Man.
"Audience obviously did not know this work as there was laughter in all the wrong places."
Hmmm, it seems to me if an audience is laughing in the wrong places, it isn't because THEY don't know the work, but apparently the director and cast didn't get it right.
Bergen stiff? I thought she was perfect (but of course her character was in a very uncomfortable situation, so I get the idea of her appearing "stiff". Loved Larouquette in the role -- but I no longer have any idea what "coming across as a presidential canditate" means. They sure don't seem to fit a mold so far as I can tell. I expect him to be nominated for a Tony for this one.
