Millenneum Hotel St. Louis

I am traveling to St Louis for a conference in 3 weeks and the hotel that the conference will be held at has a no debit/check card policy (checking card with Visa/MC logo)...has anyone ever heard of this with this particular hotel? The hotel is the St. Louis Millenneum downtown. I cannot find anything in writing on the hotel website or via google. I am wonder if this is a policy that was thrown in place for this particular convention due to "who" will be attending. Any info you provide will help. Thanks!

Have you tried calling the hotel directly and asking them? (314) 241-9500.

I remember there was a discussion on Fodor's: somebody tried to make a reservation with a debit card, but this was a no-no, only credit cards allowed. Can't recall which forum.

I think this has something to do with the limit withdrawal per day. When you check in, the hotel puts a "hold" for a certain amount on your credit card, but they can't do it with a debit card.

As for this hotel, I like the location, most likely you'll have great views.

Have you tried to search TripAdvisor for a review on Millenium?
