Has anybody ever been to the Muir Woods Park Community Association Clubhouse? On Mapquest it looks to be about 5 miles from 101/Mill Valley/hotel area. Is this a mountainous, curvy road to the clubhouse? Must transport something delicate there (a wedding cake, LOL) and am trying to figure out the logistics. I do not live in the area and am trying to plan for every contingency in advance! THANKS for any advice on someone who is familiar with Panoramic Hwy/Ridge Ave.

Google street view shows it by a hill.

As I remember, driving to Muir Woods is curvy. Like "say a prayer" type of the road, not for weak hearts
We used to live on Ash St.just off of Shoreline (Hwy 1)
and know the road well. Yup, it's pretty darn curvy-there is near pin turn about 1/2 mile past Ash and there is a true pin turn as you exit Shoreline onto Panoramic.
The locals use another way up off of Miller nearer downtown Mill Valley. You take Montford to Molino, hang a right.
Molino becomes Edgewood and you turn left on Fern Ave
I'm not sure it would save you much in the way of curves
and hills, yet you could probably drive it much slower
then the Shoreline-Pannoramic Route. This alternate route is
residential with a few stop signs. Shoreline & Panoramic can be pretty fast on a busy weekend.
Perhaps wehn you are out here you can drive both routes
before delivery day and judge it for yourself.

THANKS so much to you both for the info! I am going to Mapquest that alternate route. I fly into Oakland the morning of the wedding and pick up the cake on the way there! No time for scouting! I am having a lot of anxiety, LOL.
