can any one tell me how far it is to walk from penn station new york to the stanford hotel at 43 west 32nd street and the quickest route to take

Less than 10 minutes.
Follow the signs to exit Penn Station at the 7th Ave and 32nd St exit. Walk straight across 6th Ave and walk east on 32nd St. Cross 6th Ave, then Broadway. The hotel is on the block between Broadway and 5th Ave.
The walk is more like 5 minutes once you've wended your way out of Penn Station. (There are numerous exits be sure to get the 32 st 7th ave one.)
Don't know the hotel, but most of the comments are from europeans - which makes me think they specialize in european tour groups - who expect less from hotels than US travelers by and large.
Go to maps.google.com and type in the top

and select walk and you'll have your answer and a map. Penn station is BIG and has lots of exits. Look for signs that say 7th ave. and exit that side which is closer to your hotel.
