Ditto to the first response-been going there since our daughter moved there in '77. Have a great Cuban meal at the "El Ciboney" on Margaret St. on the Atlantic side, or Mangia Mangia, on Margaret St. just up the street from the Turtle Krawls. Rent a bike and tour the island, do take the Conch Train tour to hear the history. People watch!! See Mel Fisher's Museum of his Gold from the Spanish Galleons, tour Hemingway's house & see all the cats. Key WEst does have it's own website, check it out. Have fun, & relax.

My husband & I have been to Key West 3 times, this past May we got married there at the Curry Mansion Inn.-Look it up, it's a wonderful place to stay and they're on the internet. It's close to everything, so you can park your car and walk- much better than driving in Key West. Duval street has a bar or restaurant to suit anyone's taste and tons of shops. You must go to Pepe's and have a grilled Mahi-Mahi sandwich, also try the Schooner Wharf Bar and the Half Shell Raw Bar. The Conch Tour Train is a wonderful overview and history of Key West, and if you like, try a snorkeling trip - we had a blast.
In Islamorada you can go to the Theatre of the Sea and swim with the dolphins, but reserve asap or there won't be room.
Key West is wonderful, you won't be dissapointed.

Let me put in a word for Miami, my home.
Among interesting things to do/see are: driving the causeways over the bay between the mainland and Key Biscayne and Miami Beach; strolling the beach at sunrise; clubbing at places that don't open til midnight on South Beach; the zoo; Parrot Jungle; Seaquarium; shopping at any of several giant malls; pro sports; multicultural festivals; concerts ...
