Miami Beach Four Points

Has anyone stayed at this hotel on Collins? I got a great rate of $89, but they cannot guarantee even an upgrade to oceanview until arrival. This has made me doubtful.
Thanks in advance for any knowledge.

What time of year are you going? If it is in the fall, you may get upgraded to oceanview. If it is peak season, Christmas through April, probably not. The 4 Points is a step down on the Sheraton brand.

Actually, reservation is for the end of September. Staying two days on the beach before heading to Key West.

What is the price of oceanfront? Since you are going in September (peak hurricane season) you may be able to upgrade for a small fee. I would check out what the price difference is.

Actually, that is part of my concern...when I asked for a possible upgrade,I was told that could only happen at check-in. I asked what the additional cost would be & they could/would not tell me that either. This has caused me to consider other options, although the $89 rate with a small upgrade fee would be fine, if I knew how much that would be.

That is a big red flag in my book if they will not tell you what the price of a room is that is in a higher category. $89 a night for off season in Miami is a lot. I'd go back to the drawing board and find another hotel. I feel confident you can find one oceanfront for that price in September.

FYI - Hotels.com has this hotel for $81/night. Starwood hotels has a low price guarantee meaning if you book through starwoodhotels.com and then send them the info (web page shot) of the lower rate you get the lower rate AND another 10% off. Cheers.
