My husband and I stayed at a resort in South Miami Beach last November (near South Beach but not right in the center of things) called Castillo del Mar. We rented a privately owned condo ($2800 for a month), but there are also hotel rooms that are very nice (not sure about the cost). It is right on the water, very clean, beautiful views, excellent service, valet parking. We are going back for another two weeks this coming November. I highly recommend it!

Last summer we went to Miami and we had a hotel in Bal Harbour on the Collins Ave.
PALMS ON THE OCEAN is the name of the hotel. It had 2 pools, see side, a beautiful garden, not far from good restaurants,... You really have to try this hotel. You'll have a great time.
If you have some more questions about Miami
just mail me.

Several hotels to consider are:
Sheraton Bal Harbour Hotel
I will try to get a web address for the Visitor's and Convention Bureau for Miami Beach..you can also visit www.fodors.com and click on Miami Beach...
www.tripbook.com is good too.

When I was in Miami last year, I stated at the IMPALA. It's in South Beach, one-block behind Ocean Avenue (Ocean Ave. is on the beachfront; lotsa exciting places & exciting people).
The Impala was quite charming...about 12-rooms total. It's a renovated 1940's bldg. Being a block behind Ocean Ave. was great (less noisy, but just a short block away from all the "action.")
