Hi,
My wife and I are planning trip to Miami and FLL next December traveling with our -by then- 9 month old child and are looking for any suggestions on which city/hotel -Miami or FLL- to stay and activities and restaurants from anyone who has been there with toddlers.
We will rent a car so we can travel outside of Miami or Fort Lauderdale, but obviously not too far.
Thanks for your advise.

I live near Ft Lauderdale so I can't look at it from the perspective of a tourist.
Each of my children has an 11 month old baby and they gone to restaurants with them since early on.
Almost all have baby seats.
You'll know how yours reacts and you can act accordingly.
Myer, thanks for your comments.
Which Miami hotel to book for $200 or so per day?
When in December? Early December with the exception of Art Basel, you can get a fantastic resort hotel for $200 per night.
Over the holidays, $200 will get you a nice mom and pop motel in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea.
A place we enjoy very much when our children are small is Fairchild Botanical Gardens. There is a Roy Liechtenstein sculpture exhibit now. The beach at that time will be pleasant to hang out at, although the water (in a native's opinion) might be too cold. At that age though, our kids were usually very happy just to hang out with us and were great, portable travellers. A tour of the Art Deco district could be nice for both parents and the baby. Make sure to bring whatever the baby prefers to travel in - stroller, sling, carrier. My kids were also very entertained at a place like Lincoln Road while we ate outside. They loved the open air, movement, colors, dogs, etc.
You can check the Ritz Key Biscayne.
