I'm going to Melboure with 2 teams for FLL Competition at FIT in Melbourne.. We have 14 kids and were looking for a 'fun' day and 'fun' kid friendly dining for their 'free' day.
We are staying at the Crowne Plaza Melbourne Oceanfront on North A1A.
We are considering the Tree Top Trek at Brevard Zoo OR the beach. I read some reviews on TreeTop Trek and am a bit worried about the kids being too small to make it through. Some reviews state younger kids had trouble. We intended it to ba a 'teamwork building' excersice. Feedback??
For dining...........we are looking for a place like a Dave & Busters (Chuck E Cheese) type of thing. I have mostly boys on the team. I don't see anything like that in the area. We will have plenty of adults with cars. Any suggestions??

There are three different courses at Treetop Trek. The one called Chutes and Ladders is intended for younger kids (they have to be 36 inches to 60 inches tall. It is about 4 or 5 feet off the ground and takes 45 -60 minutes to complete. The Canopy Walk is intended for older kids and adults (they have to be 54 inches tall) and takes 1 to 2 hours to complete. It's 20 feet off the ground. The longest one is Treetop Challenge which incorporates the Canopy Walk and then several high-energy activities including three ziplines (two of which go over gator and croc ponds).
Does that help? Let me know if you have any more questions.
I should also mention that Brevard Zoo has many interactive activities that are not quite as high energy: feeding giraffes and birds, kayaking, and pedalboating.
