Hi all,
Has anyone stayed at the Maui Seaside Hotel? What did you think? My main concern is if there are deadbolts on the door and the place is not a complete dive. Location and amenities are not an issue.
Thanks!
Tanya

Tanya- My husband is there as I write this. He goes maybe once a month on business and stays at the Seaside for because of the price and location.
It is not in a tourist area..on a beach, but not one where you would swim. It does have a nice plain pool and is close to the mall and a selection of decent local places to eat. A perfect place if you want to just sleep somewhere safe & clean.
It is one of the few locally owned hotels and often offers good room & car packages.
To me, the biggest drawback is the noise. Large groups (sports teams, local families in town for weddings, etc) tend to stay here. It is the sort of place where the groups will crank up the hibachi outside and talk story on the lawn, sometimes near your window! The hotel does chase them into the rooms after 9:30 or 10.
I've gone there a few times and never felt anything but safe.
