Longhi's is good; cheeseburgers in paradise is a must for the atmosphere and keoki's paradise is also fun. Waterfront is also good but may be too far unless you have a car. Its in maalea.

In Kaanapali, other than the hotel restuarants there are three beachfront restaurants in Whaler's Village - Leilani's, Hula Grill, and The Rusty Harpoon.

Try Pacifi'O in Lahaina! It's fabulous, romantic and right on the beach. It's at the far end of Front Street (the main drag that you come in on from Kaanapali.)

I've posted this before, but I *loved* "I'o" in Lahaina when I visited Maui last. I believe it's owned by the same people as Pacific'o. I'o had amazing food (I fondly remember a delicious Ono dish) and excellent service. Ask for a table on the patio around sunset and you can watch the sun sink into the ocean. Lovely!

thanks all. I have a good list going now of places to go. Think I will skip hooters though. As much as I like a good philly steak, don't think I can convince the girlfried to go there on vacation.
