Maui Coast Hotel?

Anyone been there?

Is hotel ok?

What is about the area that hotel is located in? Safe? Clean? Nice neigborhood?

I dont know the town nearby and am not sure if it is a good area for the first timer visitors to Maui.

We are easy to please and dont want to spend $$$$$ but yet enjoy beauty and simple things.

THANKS!

I have not stayed at the hotel but I have stayed in Kihei. We chose Kihei because we thought it was central to doing the activities we planned to do on the island and it is a little more laid back than Kaanapali.

It's been several years since I stayed there, but it's an ok hotel. Not really large like a resort, but beaches are across the street (don't recall if it's directly across the street, but it's close enough to walk to).

It's located in Kihei, which is an ok location. I prefer Wailea, which is maybe 5 minutes away, but Wailea is a lot more expensive. If I don't stay in Wailea, I usually stay in Kihei.

I stayed at the Maui Coast 10 years ago. The hotel is fine. Right across the street from the beach. Free nightly entertainment at the pool bar. Walking distance to many restaurants.

Thank you for your responses. We are simple and aren't looking for a resort etc. We need to stay at cheaper places. As of now we are also looking at Best western hotel which is not as good as this hotel but our budget force us to rethink the cost. Oh well. Thanks again!
