Trying to decide between Hyatt Regency Maui, Westin Maui Resort, Fairmont
Kea Lani Maui or Grand Wailea Resort. HELP!

I strongly recommend that you search here for the same question has been asked and answered sufficiently for you to base your decision. Truly.

I have never stayed at the first two listed, but have stayed at the latter two. Your 11 year old will be thrilled with the Grand Wailea's slides, river, etc. and your 19 year old will probably have some fun, too. The GW's rooms are smaller and more spread out than the Kea Lani. The KL's rooms are all suites so are more spacious for a family of 4 (we put our 2 teens in the small living room which had a hide-a-bed and then asked for a rollaway which worked pretty well-no way that they will sleep together). I much preferred this to the standard room at the GW, but...the "kids" will probably have more fun at the GW. Hope that this helps.

the Grand Wailea is just magical. Large, all services well-delivered, a world-class spa, etc. We were comped for top-level accommodations so space was plentiful, but can't speak to other levels of rooms.

It loses a few points on the food in its restaurants, imo--the food was okay, but not great. If you didn't have the kids, I'd suggest the Four Seasons just down the road (walking distance) because though I haven't stayed there, it looks lovely and the food in the restaurants was excellent.

We stayed at the Kea Lani last July and LOVED it. However, we were on our honeymoon and really enjoyed the adult only pool (and the large suite!). We walked through the grounds of the GW and I thought to myself, thank goodness we aren't stay here with all these kids. I think your kids would LOVE the pools/slides at the GW.
I don't think you could go wrong with either choice.
I would stay in the Wailea area (and skip your first 2 choices), it is gorgeous.

You have to stay at the Grand Wailea. I have been to maui several times in my life and went to school/university on Oahu for a summer. The Grand Wailea Maui is so much nicer, hands down. It is a true resort. They have a great spa!!! Also, they have a fun childrens pools that you can stay in and an adult pool that is nice and quiet. There are hammocks right on the beach that you can use. The rooms are very nice (all types) I have stayed in most. They have towers/rooms where you get lunch and breakfast that is included in your room rate! They also have great golf coarses across the street. I have stayed at the Hyatt and it is cheaper but I think it is dated. I stayed there as a child and then 20 years later and not much has changed. So if you want to splurge, and it IS worth it, I would do the grande wailea. Your kids will love the pools they have because there are fun slides and they might even enjoy the adult pool just for laying out. They bring you frozen grapes/cold towles that they bring you ever other hour when you are at the adult pool. They used to spritz you with water. There is a brand new shopping center next to the grande wailea that has new shops anything from cheesy touristy gifts to Gucci/LV.The area of Wailea what you would think a tropical island of hawaii would be, the lahina area is much more touristy and populated. Also, the four seasons next to the grande wailea is nice as well, but more of a hotel than a resort. They are connected by a path along the beach. Anyway, for your 1st visit you should stay in Wailea. Hope this helps, even if you choose other you should at least go there during the day to see the grounds.
