Marriott Residence Inn/ Buffalo

Anyone with feedback on this property on Maple Ave.in Buffalo/Amherst? The main site shows room photos, but alas, taken in Atlanta, so if you're local or have been would love to hear your evaluation before we book.

Hi Anne - We live in Rochester, but our son spent 2 years at UB. We stayed there during parents weekend because the two hour drive home late at night was just too much.

The rooms I would have to say this was about 6 years ago were just like any of the Residence Inn rooms. I am sure they keep them up.

You are so close to the Niagra Casino and Rich stadium to watch the Bills loose again to Miami. The outlet malls are very close and as I said it has been some time since we stayed there but from the outside the still look great.

I live here, so haven't stayed on the property. However, from the outside it looks kept up. It's in a typical suburban location - safe and close to everything. I think it was built mainly for people doing business at University of Buffalo. It's close to the thruway, so you can get anywhere fairly quickly.

I've stayed there on business several times. I have also stayed at the Residence Inn near the Atlanta Airport. The Buffalo one was clean, the breakfast in the morning was fairly decent. The location is convenient to UB, a movie theater and a restaurant called Dakota's that's pretty good. It however is furnished very differently from the one in Atlanta. It has more "This End Up" style furniture - not quite as nice as Atlanta .

anne - I live in Buffalo also and wonder if you would include the purpose of your trip... If you are here as a tourist, there are much better places to stay... If you are here on business or for the University of Buffalo, this might be your place to stay... let us know and we can help you more...

Thanx all for the info. In answer to garyt --We often go over to the Buffalo area for a weekend .. just r & r, a little shopping etc. Due to the $$ we haven't been as often lately but have stayed at quite a few places -Microtel, Fairfield, Comfort Suites on Dick, etc. but thought this time we would do the "kitchen" thing so we could have late night snacks, early morning coffee etc. and the Mariott looked just a little posher than the others. If you have other ideas preferably within the same area, as it's easy access to everything ,I'm open to suggestions.

anne--We stayed at this property for several days over Christmas a few times--and it continues to be my first choice. Location, up-keep, pleasant staff attitude, size of the rooms/suites, kitchen set-up with full-sized appliances, etc., breakfast provided (and coffee all day) in the gatehouse--all add up to a good place to stay.

There is a Homewood Suites on Dick Rd in Amherst. Newer than the Residence.
Full kitchen and bfast is served in the lobby. Might be a lower rate
