It'd be a long walk, but doable, I think. I'm not a Memphis resident, though, so hopefully you'll get some more specific advice.

It's about a mile to Beale Street. You can take the trolley from right outside the hotel. Heads up on that hotel, however. It's convenient to the convention center, but it was one of the dirtiest and most poorly run Marriott properties I've ever seen. I found food under the bed there as well as assorted other goodies. I waited well over an hour for room service. Could not get waited on for coffee at breakfast. No Sunday newspapers in the lobby. Homeless people camped out on the front lawn. I could go on and on. Is there more than one Marriott in Memphis? I stayed at a Memphis Marriott
2 years ago and there was a trolley stop right in front and it was about a mile or so to Beale St.,so I think it's the same one. It was near St. Jude's Hospital.

I'm surprised at LLinda's comments. I stayed there 2 years ago and found it to be just lovely - beautifully furnished, clean, nice atmosphere and the service was friendly. My room was spotless and I didn't see anyone camped on the front lawn. I haven't stayed at too many Marriott's but this was by far the nicest.

I was there last year.

That's my review. Look at some of yhe recent ones. I have never seen such filth under a bed. The exercise room was filthy as well. Rolls of dust, towels strewn around. The obby looked pretty nice and I didn't have issues with the staff. But I coughed for days following the stay due to the dust in the room.
