Sorry about that, because I new the place I expected everyone else too. We are staying in New Orleans,Canal St.
It's like most other 'convention type' Marriotts. Big, all the basic business services, nothing surprising (good or bad), good location. If you've stayed at many Marriotts before and they've been in keeping with your demands, you won't be disappointed.

We've stayed there 3 times and found it to be your typical Marriott. Good location. You go out the back door and you're in the Fr. Qtr.
Nice bar at the top. Good place for "sunset cocktails"...a good look all the way down the "Big Muddy" and over the FQ.

Hi Peter,
We've been to the Marriott in New Orleans. Location is great as other posters noted. However I have to warn you to stay away from their restaurant. I don't remember the name but it's on the same level with the lobby where they serve breakfast (if your package include breakfast). We arrived late and had dinner on our first night. The breakfast was OK but dinner was pricey and the food was horrible.

Hmmmm. I'm a skilled chef or waiter or menu designer in New Orleans looking for work. Do I go work at a Marriott (the milquetoast of restaurant choices worldwide) or an establishment dedicated exclusively to making dining a memorable experience?
Of course I'm being snide and all, but the point is that most (not all, though) chain hotel restaurants are fair to middling at their best. They survive on convenience (as Cathy stated, she got in late, probably tired and without the energy to go seek a quality meal) for the most part.
I think it's newsworthy when a chain hotel restaurant IS good. When they're not, I think that's par for the course.
