So this trip to Victoria and then Vancouver, we are thinking about taking the ferry out of Port Angeles as something new. If we do, we'll make a day out of the trip there, beginning from a SeaTac hotel on a Sunday morning and maybe catching the 5:20pm ferry. Can you all help out with some suggestions for filling the day on the peninsula?

It will be in mid-late September, so first of all, are there any lavender farms still blooming? And is there time to go up on Hurricane Ridge? Maybe a neat place for lunch (seafood most welcome, though not sushi).

As background, the vacation goes something like this:

- Fly from Florida to Albuquerque, spend a week in Durango & a couple days in New Mexico.
- Fly from there into Seattle (arrive evening) and stay at an airport hotel
- Take the Port Angeles ferry into Victoria for 2 nights
- Take ferry either into Horseshoe Bay or Tsawwassen into Vancouver for 5 nights
- Last night at SeaTac airport hotel for early morning return home

Wanted to avoid driving across the border this time, hoping to make this a good look-see for a longer visit to that part of Olympic peninsula. Went to Forks area last year but concentrated on that area.
