Makana Charter Reviews in Kauai?
I am looking for a boat cruise that we will be able to see beautiful scenery including inside the caves. My biggest concern is the roughness of the ocean and how the boat will handle that since my husband has back issues. I was looking at Captain Andy's since they have a 65' boat and just thought we wouldn't be able to go inside caves. Now I just found Makana Charters. They have a 45 boat which I thought should be able to handle the rough waters pretty good. It also looks like they go inside the caves. Any of you have advice on this for me?

I have already thought of packing his brace for him. He doesn't need the dramamine because he doesn't ever get sick. But me on the other hand I will have that along with my little wristband that helps prevent motion sickness for the plane and the boat
Thanks for you advice.

In May we took a 7 hour snorkeling journey with HoLo HoLo, excellent trip. That being said, whenever you are on the open sea which will be rough either going or most likely coming back. Have done several trips with Capt'n Andy and enjoyed it too but it does NOT go into caves. The HOlo Holo excursion went right up to the caves but rough seas made it impossible to get in. BAD BACK I would not recommend these types of trips as you bounce a lot over the waves and if you are inclined to sea sickness get patch or wrist bands if you decide to go.
I can recommend a very fun day with tubing the old plantation canals. very very fun and easy on the back.

I think I may have mentioned on another thread Sept should be nice on the Northside.
The thing I tell a lot of Kauai first timers is "the only guarantee on the weather in Kauai is there IS NO guarantee".
I've had pals go over in the summer and it rained their entire trips.
We went over in Dec/Jan for 21 days and it maybe rained 1 day where we had to cancel any plans.
Mucho mahalos!
