1st time to Kauai! Will not be the last!

Not sure what price range, but I suppose you would want a place right on the beach, and child friendly. Lafayette's in Wells is a large motel complex directly on the beach, and has rooms in many price ranges. A bit more expensive is the Norseman in Ogunquit.
York Beach is great with little ones. Check out the Anchorage, it's right on the ocean.
Inn By the Sea in Cape Elizabeth
Joesorce,
This looks exactly like what I am looking for. Do you know that it is kid friendly?
Can you tell me more about the place?
Thanks,
Mike
The Black Point Inn in Scarborough is very child friendly in the summer. It's near Portland:

If you want something a little further south and more reasonable, the Sparhawk Inn in Ogunquit is great for families.
Hi msull,

I personally enjoy Old Orchard beach. It's FULL of families and there are plenty of things in the small downtown area for parents to do with their kids. If you prefer something a little quieter you might look into Pine Point which is just 10 minutes away from Old Orchard so its convenient enough to get to if you want the excitement but prefer to stay somewhere a little quieter.
If you have any questions about it don't be shy, I go almost every summer so maybe I could help you out.
