According to the Maine foliage map (http://www.maine.gov/doc/foliage/report/index.shtml), the northern part of the state has peak color. We'll have the opportunity tomorrow to take a long drive starting from Bar Harbor if you guys can suggest where to go and a route. Thanks so much!!

Sorry you haven't had a response. I remember a drive from Fort Kent to Presque Isle as being mostly pine trees but that was quite a few years ago but keep in mind I think that area of Maine is paper company territory which is big pines.
