Trip Report Maine Accomodations review

Jump to last reply

We were impacted by the rain and fog last week in Maine, so our reviews of everything are a bit skewed by our disappointment. That being said, I think the following is pretty fair.

Kennebunkport: We stayed at the Franciscan Monastary. It's not a huge savings, and ask for details because they have many types of rooms all close in price. The grounds are gorgeous and the location to the center of town is ideal. Our favorite breakfast place was All Day Breakfast-- good food, and cheap!! We met many "locals" each morning and took their advice for lunch. Do NOT Miss finding and eating at Nunan's Lobster Hut-- the best meal of my life!!!! Loved the food, the servers, the owner-- don't miss this.

Bar Habor: We stayed at Quimby House. It's right on the main drag coming into town, so our first room facing the street had quite a bit of traffic noise. They moved us afer our second night (probably because so many tourists were leaving due to the weather) and that room was very quiet. Beautiful rooms, nice staff, good location to the harbor (10 blocks or so). Loved Jordan Pond House, and other parts of the park, loved the free buses, HATED our bad luck with the weather. Oh well, that's life.
