Madison Square Garden

I'm going to an NBA game in Feb and looking at the Garden and re-sale sites there isn't a lot of info about sight lines etc.

I'm willing to spend enough to get downstairs but not enough for the primo sections along the sidelines. Most of the seats I'm considering are in 01, 02. 03, 07, 08, 09, 101, 102, 103, 110-114 - and a couple in 116 (which are a bit above my limit w/ all the services charges)

And I don't mind sitting in the end zone - I often do as long as the stanchion/shot clock doesn't obscure the view.

Any recommendations? How elevated are the seats in the end areas? Do any of these sections have waiter/waitress service? Or would I be better off going upstairs and sitting side court?

Thanks

Oh - and meant to ask: In some arenas rooting for the visitors is totally OK -- in others, not so much.

What is it like in Knicks land???

There are various sites that show you what the views will be. http://seatgeek.com/venues/madison-s...1/section-208/

What team will you be rooting for?

Stub Hub has a NYC office, a block or so from MSG. If you call that office of Stub Hub, they will provide you with really good and accurate info on sight lines of tix they sell for any game at MSG.

Ooh - thanks. seat geek looks exactly like what i was looking for. Sort of seat guru for MSG.

I'll be at the Kings/Knicks game - not a hit ticket for sure. But they are my team. Been to almost every home game in the 28 years they've been here.

Currently sitting in Sleep Train arena half way through the first quarter of the Clipper game - and we are up - at least temporarily

as long as you sit center coutr the seat will be fine.Side seats are not that great IMHO some seats on the floor behind the basket can be a bargaim, watch stubhub as all the season

You might be viewed as a curiosity - a diehard Kings fan post-Webber.

I'd lean toward center court between the circles, if possible. Seat Geek is good, but the objects in the pictures are farther than they may appear. The Seat Geek photos make you seem closer than you will feel.

Oh - I figured that out right away. But it does seem to show fairly accurate sight lines.

As bad as the Kings and Knicks are this year, they may give the tix away

A Detroit Lions fan was beat up in the parking lot last Sunday after the Philadelphia football snow bowl just because he was wearing a Barry Sanders (huge Lion star a few decades ago) Lions shirt - so it depends on whether you encounter drunken fans or not.

Inside the arena security guards will keep you safe but outside perhaps not.

First of all you don't need to tell me who Barry Sanders is . . . second of all - ain't a lot of tailgating around MSG . . . .

janis it all depends on HOW you cheer for your team that makes a difference - in your face cheering is a bad idea anywhere but even in such dicey venues as The Ohio State University football stadium wearing Michigan colors will not mean you'll be pummeled unless perhaps you do it in their face.

So wear your colors and be prudent and you will be safe I'm sure.
