Mackinac City hotel

My wife and I just returned from her dream vacation at the Grand Hotel on Machinac Island. Hotel experience was great but we won't be coming back for a long time.

However, driving up from Detroit, we stopped at Machinac City overnight and stayed at the Hamilton Inn Select. Worst hotel I've ever been in. The desk clerk was bored and couldn't be bothered talking to us. The room was dirty and had spiders crawling over the bathtub. The bedsheets were stained, the towels had burn spots on them and there was no computer center to check e-mails, etc.

The complimentary breakfast the next morning was inedible. Coffee tasted like it came from old C Rations. All for the wonderful price of $249.00 per night. Never again.
