LV Comedy Shows suggestions

Going to LV in 2 weeks. Was there for a long week-end 3 summers ago so knew you had to book big shows ahead of time. Have tickets for KA, Barry Manilow and Zumanity. Did we make good choices? Seen a lot about KA, but curious about the other two. Would like to see a comedy act, but not as pricey as others already mentioned. Any suggestions?

Improv at Harrah's is good, and you can get half-price tickets at either of the ticket sellers on the Strip. I think it was $30 for 2 tickets last time I went. They have 3 good comedians each performance.

I just went to the Comedy Stop at the Trop (Tropicana) and it was hilarious!! I had been to it about 10 years ago and it was funny then, so glad to see it hasn't lost anything. It is 19.95 per person that includes one drink. It is maitre'd style seating so give him $5 as you hand in your tickets and you get a nice seat up close. I HIGHLY recommend this comedy show. In fact we are going back this weekend with some friends of ours that just moved here.

We just went to Improv last week and looked high and low for discount tickets. I am also a Diamond Rewards member at Harrahs. Was unable to find any discounts for the Improv, we did use Harrahs reward points though for the tickets. But I think the standard ticket is around $27.

The lady at Harrahs said that the Improv which must be a contracted out production of Harrahs no longer participated in any of the two for one's or discounts around town. All their other shows at Harrahs had 2 for 1.

The show was good, about 1 hour. Not gut busting funny but had a good time. The comedians were Max Alexander and Suzanne Whang aka Sung Park Hee (she is the host of "House Hunters" on the Home and Garden network). The other comedian was the "host" as he did his act in between the other two, before, after and so forth.

I absolutely 100% recommend that everyone schedule the Mac King show at Harrah's.

Two shows Tues - Sat.

Normal fee is $20 for the 1pm or 3pm Comedy Magic show.

We found the discount ticket girl outside the entrance, amid the trinket huts.

With the discount ticket, we took escalators inside Harrah's to the Clint Holmes Theatre on Floor 3 and paid $8 each for a cocktail and the door fee.
I'll refund your money if you're disappointed. That guy is something else.

I second the idea to try out the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana...lots of fun.

Tip of the day: Encourage the Maitr'e de to seat you well with a red chip (or 2 if you want) from the Trop casino. Leads them to believe that you are playing at the property....you may even be a big shooter!

We got free tickets to Mac King show, and by the way, loved the show! Don't remember how, maybe a coupon in a tourist booklet - I always pick them up upon check-in and check for coupons. Or maybe we signed up for a frequent player card and got the coupons?

Also the Auto Museum on the top of IP is great, and free - coupons!

I'm another for the Comedy Stop at the Trop. We've been 4 times and enjoyed the comedians immensely every time. I mean REALLY laughing hard.

I don't think you really want to be up close and personal - unless you like to be abused a bit by the comedian. A good central area seat is all that is required as it isn't a huge room.

Stop me if I'm doing the takeover thing on this post but wonder if any of these are family friendly for teens?

Misscriss,

Here's a thought--have never seen it but reviews of Hynolarious seem to be good. Anyone have any thoughts for her on this show?

Sorry, Tess, but your 16 y.o. son has already seen it all. Either online or at a friend's house. Maybe even at school. It happens to everyone's kids eventually. As hard as we try to preserve them, somebody else will break the seal.

Oh, I have no doubt that he's seen it all! He's kind enough not to rub it in his mother's face, though. Am thinking the 13 year old has probably seen more than I'd like to ponder, too. But I'm darned if I'll spend good money leading my own teens astray--LOL.
