I'm looking for a nice lunch spot in one of the northern Detroit suburbs. Friends are joining us for a Thanksgiving Eve lunch---we're all from the Detroit area but none of us has lived in Michigan in years. Is there somewhere nice in the Troy /Birmingham/Pontiac area that we should consider???
Lunch in northern Detroit suburbs?

The Rugby Grill at the Townsend Hotel is right in the heart of Birmingham and has a beautiful lunch/brunch. (wwwtownsendhotel.com)
Beverly Hills Grill is very nice too (on Southfield Road between 13 and 14 Mile Roads).
It's a chain, but many people are quite enamored with P.F. Changs China Bistro. There's one at Somerset Collection (on the old side, I believe) in Troy.
Maggiano's (another chain) just opened near The Somerset Collection on Big Beaver. It is VERY good and the atmosphere is quite nice, as well.
Northern Seafood Company at the Old Kingsley on Woodward ( now Raddison) on Woodward has excellent seafood. Capitol Grille, Alexander's or (another vote for) PF Changs all at the Somerset Collection are good as well.
I'll give you a couple of my favorites in that area.
Asian - "Mon Jin Lau" - 1515 E Maple, Troy
kind of upscale, not pricey, and my favorite asian restaurant in the metro DT area
Italian - "220" - 220 Merrill St
upscale pub atmosphere, rotating daily risotto, good food and in the heart of downtown Birmingham
Steak House - "Big Rock Brewery and Chop House" - 245 S. Eton St, Birmingham
upscale, great food
Casual Pub Grub - "Dick O'Dows" - 160 W. Maple, Birmingham
typical irish pub menu, good pints
Really expensive, but well worth it - "The Lark" - 6430 Farmington, W Bloomfield
not sure if they're open for lunch and it's crazy expensive, but the food and atmosphere are amazing
Have fun!
Great ideas from all of you! Thanks for your help! We'll be deciding very soon, our options sound terrific.
