Lunch along I70
I will be driving to the east coast soon, and would like to stop someplace between Columbus, OH. and Cambridge, OH. Would like to have lunch at a local dinner with good home made pies.
Thank you

You have got to stop at Tom's Ice Cream Bowl in Zanesville!! It was written up in USA Today several years ago as being one of the 10 best places for ice cream in the U.S. The place is like a time warp -- VERY little has changed from the late 40's - early 50's. The prices are incredible, and the food is excellent (typical diner fare). I don't think they have pies, but it's still definitely worth the trip! Be advised that they are closed on Mondays. Enjoy!

Just east of Hebron/Buckeye Lake is a restaurant called Clark's (in Jacksontown, Ohio - close to the center of your trip). Their menu only consists of fried chicken, ham or steak but it is served family-style with home-made mashed potatos and gravy, bread, I think two kinds of vegetables and a slice of pie. They have a huge variety of pie and all the food is definitely home cooked - right down to the slightly lumpy spuds. The exit off of 70 would be 13 North - it's only a couple miles and located right on the corner of St. Rt. 13 and 40.
