This is for a family of four, but we would do up to a three bedroom if we could find it!
Thanks so much!! And, if there is an outlying area, please recommend. Looking for the sunny side of the island, prefer about a ten day rental over Christmas (or the 26th thru ny) and through New Years Day.

Try Waikoloa, south Kohala, Hualalai. There are some splendid places, but few are actually oceanfront.
I would also suggest you check the Hawaii board on www.tripadvisor.com
There are many more respondents, many of whom live on TBI and can give you up to date information.

thanks, i am checking all of the above, regarding the july trip? i am applying that to december. unfortunately, between two teenagers and summer school, etc...we would be so tight on time, that dec/jan seems to make more sense...and flying aa anytime points (90,000 each way) we can go .... 'anytime'!
You do know that you are trying to find a week for probably the busiest/most expensive week of the year - Xmas to New Years? If you already put if off for six months - and I am one who usually advocates go now!! - you might consider trying for Spring Break if you can't find anything to your liking for this busy week.
