Looking for Kauai condo with best pool
We are planning on going to Kauai in March and have decided to stay in a condo instead of the Hyatt. We are travelling with our 4 yr old & 9 month old. Any recommendations are appreciated, Thank you!

IMO, the following condos have the best pools:
FOR THOSE WITH CHILDREN: KIAHUNA PLANTATION
The Kiahuna Swimming Pool & Tennis club was completely renovated and reopened this past summer. It is the only condo on the South Shore that has a pool with a water slide (that I'm aware of). There is also a small sandy beach area at the shallow end of the pool that is perfect for those with small children. This pool is not oceanside; it is across the street (inland) from Kiahuna Plantation.

FOR THOSE WITHOUT CHILDREN: POIPU SHORES
Location, location, location!!! There is no other condo on the South Shore with a pool located this close to the water.

Ditto the two recommendations Kiahuna Plantation and Poipu Shores. You are smart staying in a condo. Much more room and convenience for less money. Have a ball. Kauai is my favorite Island to visit. Be sure to go to Hanalei for a day. The beach is nice and the town is so funky and some good little restaurants. ALso another great beach is Kealia Beach going toward North Shore after Kapaa and before Princeville. The Princeville area also has some nice condos check them out on line.

On the spendy side, but less than the Hyatt, is Whaler's Cove. They have a beautiful oceanside pool that is HEATED! I know it may seem crazy to want a heated pool in Hawaii but it feels good during the Hawaii winter and spring! Plus the little guys like the warm water. Other plus about Whaler's Cove, besides beautiful units and incredible views, is its proximity to Baby Beach- a great little sheltered beach a short walk from the condo.
I personally hate crossing Poipu Road to get to the Kiahuna Pool. It's a long trek across a busy road.

Just curious about the Poipu Shores pool - is the pool fairly salty from the constant salt spray? And I would think just laying out in a chair you would get covered in salt spray? We stayed in a condo at the Makahuena with a second floor balcony that was right over the waves and the balcony and screen doors was just covered in the stuff so I would think being right next to it would be worse. I'm just one that likes to go in a pool to get away from the salt water for a bit.

I think I have it narrowed down to:
Kiahuna Plantation - the sandy, zero-entry pool and slide are HUGE plusses. I'm just a bit concerned about how far the walk is to the pool from the units.
Embassy Vacation Resort Poipu which also has a sandy zero-entry pool. And is next door to the Hyatt, where we can get daily pool passes to use their slides & lazy river (which we will probably do, no matter where we stay).
Any further info on these or other properties would be greatly appreciated! Actually, if their is an outstanding property on Maui or Oahu, I'd be interested in checking it out also. Thank you everyone for your time and responses.

You may also want to think about the new Marriott in Poipu. I know the pool isn't a gorgeous fantasy one like the Hyatt but I think it has waterfalls and is freeform. Perhaps others can confirm this. I like Kiahuna and have stayed there but there is no air conditioning and my daughter, 18 months at the time, was really upset by all the geckos that come in and out through the louvred covered windows (no screens).
