Looking for "cheap and cheerful" hotel in Miami!

We are 2 couples in our 60's who are looking for a nice place to stay in Miami for 2 nights in January before going on a music cruise.
We like smaller places that are walking distance to good restaurants and bars. We like places that are clean and friendly...the type of place that you'd like to return to, year after year.
We would like to keep the cost under $200/night double occupancy.
Thanks for any advice!

Here's a nice one with shoppes and cafes nearby, 3 blocks to the Bal Harbour Shoppes and 4 blocks to the beach:

Thank you for the suggestion of the Daddy O Hotel (love the name!). Unfortunately, the rates are higher than our budget allows...$279.00 plus taxes for our Jan. travel dates.

Again, we were hoping to find something for $200 or less per room.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I like the Park Central. I'm not sure what their rates are for your dates -

January is high season for south FL. You might have to up your budget for oceanfront.

Go to kayak.com and put in your dates.
