Any suggestions? Perhaps you have held or attended a wedding or other type function in this area. Do not want inner harbor area as attendees are all WWII, Korean and Viet Nam Vets so we need reasonable rates with free parking. Hotel must have a banquet room for 60-70 people. Airport shuttle a plus.

The USO has an office in the airport. I'm sure someone there could give you the best guidance.
ronkala, although I don't know this specific hotel personally (the one at BWI) one company I'm familiar with always chooses Embassy Suites for their group meetings across the country.
The hotel design is consistent, with a central atrium that is great in all kinds of weather. A cooked-to-order breakfast is offered every morning as well popcorn and snacks in the afternoons (usually). The rooms are suites with a living room and a bedroom with a door betweeen. There's a small fridge, microwave and coffeemaker in the rooms.
The one at BWI offers free shuttles to the airport and free parking -

They have room for your banquet.
Again, I've not stayed at that particular hotel but you could check reviews. Embassy Suites work well for that kind of group meeting.
Tom,
Since we are ex-military I don't think the USO can help but I will call them to find out.
Starrs,
The Embassy looks good. I looked at their rate for this coming September and with a group dicount for five nights plus a banquet it could very well be affordable. The value of the comp. hot breakfast has to be considered also.
I thank both of you.
ronk
Honestly, we have meetings at them all over the country and we've been consistently pleased. The breakfast has a variety of cold and cooked to order breakfast items. There's usually a small gift shop and a small bar. Service is also good. They usually get a lot of business travelers during the week and offer good weekend rates. Maybe the best thing for the older vets is that everything is under the atrium and climate controlled. Rain? Bad weather? Too hot? Not a problem. Two elevators in the corners and not a lot of walking. The suite configuration is good when someone wants to stay up at night while a spouse wants go on to bed. It's jus a really good moderately priced group meeting facility. Good luck in your planning.
Two other options -

And this one, but I'm not sure they have the space for your banquet night -

If you go with those, be sure to join Hilton Honors if you aren't already a member and see if you can get points for some of the expenses (if it's charged to your folio). Even if it's not it may get you some upgrades - maybe free internet or something.
Oh! There's a Hyatt Place at BWI too! That should be a fairly new facility and pretty snazzy. I can't tell their max dinner space online.

If I were booking a reunion, I'd feel pretty good about any of those four. The deciding factor would be price AND the ease of working with the group planner.
Take a look at Sheraton BWI or the Westin BWI, both hotels have plenty of banquet space and free parking, complimentary shuttle as well.

Westin BWI 443-577-2300
Good Luck with your reunion!
