Greetings dear Fodorites,
Have been reading many a post today on Tempe. We are staying at The Buttes Marriott (formally the Wyndham) on Marriott points, hoping it is clean and decent enough.
Through my research the two restaurants in my title are widely recommended. Any others in Tempe that are delicious, fun, casual?
Best wishes, T.
Longitano's and Z Tejas in Tempe... Any other personal favorites?

Fat Tuesday's is always fun with those slushie drinks..
Long Wong's for wings are still the best in town.
Have fun in Tempe!
We also like Carlsbad Tavern on Hayden/approx. Osborn Rds., Salt Cellar in South Scottsdale....Rustler's Rooste at Pointe Tapatio, all these are not far from your location.
Thanks guys!
DH loves wings ~ we'll have to check out Long Wong's.
Thanks also desertduds, sounds great!
Hi guys,
Posting back for future travelers...
I wish we would have had mote time for your above recommendations, I thank you for your input. For a number of reasons, the trip turned out to be more work and less play so quick meals unfortunately were prevalent. With that said we did have time for one Fodorite recommendation and here is my review.
On another Tempe thread, big tyke recommended Longitano’s (located at the SE corner of McClintock and Elliot)
This restaurant is now under new ownership and is called VinciTorio's (1835 E. Elliot Road, Suite 108, Tempe AZ, 85284 480-820-2786 www.vincitoriosrestaurant.com)
We only were able to locate it because of bigtyke's description, because it is indeed at the SE corner of McClintock and Elliot. When we were unable to see any Longitano's signage, we decided it must have changed hands, and stopped in. Indeed it had changed owners about a year ago.
We enjoyed this restaurant. It is casual, though there were people dressed up a bit more. The zuppa (soup) was delicious and homemade. Our entrees were good (we each had pasta dishes, they have a fine selection of homemade pasta on site, or other dishes with pasta imported from Italy. The ambiance nice. Our waitress was very polite and well informed. Owners were there and working the floor caring for everyone's needs, saying hello to return guests. All in all, we enjoyed it here.
We would dine here again. Thank you for the rec.
Enjoy!
