Long Boat Key

Can anyone in Florida tell me if Long Boat Key (Island west of Sarasota) has had much damage. Have not been able to reach family member but she travels on business so perhaps that is why. Any info would be appreciated. Her house is on the intercoastal waterway. Thanks

Our area did not get any damage from the hurricanes. We were spared all three times. I don't remember any significant damged reported after any one of the 3 hurricanes. Some broken tree branches and some flying debris but that's about it. No flooding. We were very lucky here in Sarasota area. The most noticeable one in our area was Francis as it came across the state. We did get some heavy winds when the storm was north of Tampa. The southern "whip" that the storm creates did bring heavy rains at times and siome bursts of wind, but nothing that would damage homes or businesses.

To AAFrequentFlyer. Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. Truly appreciate it. Best wishes that Florida will start to have some good weather. Cannot even imagine how residents are coping.

Now that everyone here in Central Florida has their electric back on, the weather is finally turning a little cooler! Today was 83 and gorgeous!

Well the Sarasota area is gorgeous! Am glad power is on. What a horrible time for Florida. Being in California we seem to "live" with earthquakes from time to time but honestly the hurricans seem to be worse. Best wishes to all of you
